Bhupen Khakar (Mumbai/India, 1934)

APUNTE BREVE / BRIEF PORTRAIT

Bhupen Khakar (Mumbay-India, 1934/Baroda 2003) is one of the most internationally renowned Indian artists, with works in the collections of the greatest museums of contemporary art. His work is figurative and mixes very up-to-date lines with others from the Hindu tradition. We really like his paintings, but his known graphic work are also exciting, with a higly narrative and subtly erotic figurative representation.
